This homemade muesli is a simple, delicious and healthy breakfast to lose weight! I personally eat it most mornings, which has helped on my journey to lose more than 15kgs!

I eat this breakfast almost every morning, and it has helped me to lose weight effortlessly! Importantly though, there are no rules with my weight loss method that say you cannot eat anything else for breakfast. I still love occasionally eating eggs with a side of baked beans, or even sometimes vegemite and avocado on toast! Having no rules is a big part of my simple no diet method to losing weight, and also naturally makes me want to eat delicious meals like this muesli for breakfast.

It takes only a few minutes to put together, and feels like such a treat to eat every morning. Once you have the ingredients from the supermarket, you are most of the way there!


Shopping list

  • 1 bag whole rolled oats

  • 1 bag natural mixed nuts

  • 1kg tub of plain yoghurt (plant or dairy)

  • Milk of your choice

  • Chia seeds

  • Sunflower seeds

  • Prunes

  • Frozen berries (I usually used mixed, but sometimes just buy blueberries)

  • Bananas


I know there are a few items on the shopping list, but most of them keep in the pantry and you won't need to buy often. Plus I promise it will be worth it as you eat a healthy breakfast to lose weight that is both delicious and keeps you feeling satisfied and energised until lunch!


Recipe

Firstly mix the bags of oats and nuts in a large container (I use a 2.8L cereal container). Then in your favourite cereal bowl, like the ceramic bowl in my photo made by my talented wife Eva, mix;


Roughly;

  • 1/2-3/4 cup of oat/nut mix

  • 1-2 dessert spoons of yoghurt

  • 1 dessert spoon of chia seeds

  • 1-2 teaspoons sunflower seeds

  • 2-4 prunes

  • 1/2 cup berries

  • 1 small-medium banana or half a large banana


These measurements are all very rough and should be adapted with your hunger levels, but can be used as an initial guide. As I mention in my two simple tricks to losing weight, it's important to chew slowly to help notice when you are full. Using this method of chewing slowly and mindfully whilst creating habits like eating this healthy breakfast to lose weight have created sustainable and simple weight loss for me.
